In a step that reflects the commitment to developing ballooning in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and enhancing its global presence, the Saudi Ballooning Federation participated as a strategic sponsor in the 118th General Conference of the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) in 2024 in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, with representatives and experts from more than 90 countries around the world.

This conference is one of the most prominent international events in the field of aerial sports, bringing together a select group of specialists each year to discuss the latest developments, exchange expertise, and establish global regulations for aerial sports, in addition to honoring the winners of aerial competitions in recognition of their achievements.

The support of the Saudi Balloon Federation for the conference comes to affirm its pioneering role in developing ballooning in the Kingdom and enhancing its presence on the global stage, in line with Saudi Arabia’s vision to support aerial sports.

It is worth mentioning that the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) was established in 1905 to be the body responsible for setting the rules and organizing global competitions in various air sports, including parachuting, gliding, and ballooning.
