In a unique initiative, the Saudi Balloon Federation offered interactive virtual workshops targeting students from Al-Faisal International School for boys and girls, and Al-Kornish School for boys, in an effort to raise awareness of ballooning at the local level among the young generations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to spread its culture, introducing them to the potential and importance of this sport, as well as encouraging them to try and participate in it.

Workshops rich in information

The virtual workshops presented by Captain Afrah Ahmed included a variety of topics that piqued the students’ interest, covering different aspects of ballooning. These topics ranged from classifying it as a sport and providing a simplified explanation of the history of ballooning and its evolution over the ages, to introducing the stages of balloon manufacturing and the materials used in it, the history of ballooning as an aerial sport, and showcasing the most prominent types of global competitions held around the world.

Interaction between students and teachers

The initiative received positive feedback from both students and teachers, who expressed their happiness with this unique experience that provided them with valuable information about ballooning. The number of beneficiaries from the workshops reached 400 students.
